IFSA meets at IAFS 2017 in Toronto

ASCLD President Ray Wickenheiser and Board Member Brooke Arnone had the pleasure of meeting with members of IFSA (International Forensic Strategic Alliance) at the 21st Triennial Meeting of the International Association of Forensic Sciences in Toronto, Canada in August 2017. At that meeting we introduced ASCLD’s Forensic Research Priorities.  As we discovered through our discussions at that meeting, these priorities align very well with the international community represented by IFSA, who have agreed to work together collaboratively to further forensic science research globally.

During the 21st Triennial Meeting, we also were able to host a booth for ASCLD. The booth was kept busy by the many questions from the meeting attendees.   These questions ranged from “what is ASCLD” to “how can ASCLD help us”?  We were able to give out a lot of advice and perhaps even some guidance on Leadership classes, ASCLD’s 2018 Leadership Academy and Symposium, the many membership benefits of ASCLD, and even straighten out the confusion over ASCLD and ASCLD/LAB.

The meeting and conference were outstanding.  Many friendships were formed and many contacts were made.  There was even a little bit of dancing!
